What this voice pack is
The multilingual voice pack is an optional download used to read languages other than Vietnamese. It is based on the Supertonic 3 model by Supertone Inc., released under the BigScience OpenRAIL-M licence. OpenRead modified the model (its weights are stored as int8) and repackaged it. Everything still runs entirely on your device.
Agreement
By ticking the consent box and downloading the voice pack, you agree to these terms, including the use restrictions below. Those restrictions come from the model's licence (paragraph 5 and Attachment A) and bind everyone who uses the model or a derivative of it.
Use restrictions
You agree not to use the voice pack, the model, or the audio it produces:
- (a) In any way that violates any applicable national, federal, state, local or international law or regulation;
- (b) For the purpose of exploiting, harming or attempting to exploit or harm minors in any way;
- (c) To generate or disseminate verifiably false information and/or content with the purpose of harming others;
- (d) To generate or disseminate personal identifiable information that can be used to harm an individual;
- (e) To generate or disseminate information and/or content (e.g. images, code, posts, articles), and place the information and/or content in any context (e.g. bot generating tweets) without expressly and intelligibly disclaiming that the information and/or content is machine generated;
- (f) To defame, disparage or otherwise harass others;
- (g) To impersonate or attempt to impersonate (e.g. deepfakes) others without their consent;
- (h) For fully automated decision making that adversely impacts an individual’s legal rights or otherwise creates or modifies a binding, enforceable obligation;
- (i) For any use intended to or which has the effect of discriminating against or harming individuals or groups based on online or offline social behavior or known or predicted personal or personality characteristics;
- (j) To exploit any of the vulnerabilities of a specific group of persons based on their age, social, physical or mental characteristics, in order to materially distort the behavior of a person pertaining to that group in a manner that causes or is likely to cause that person or another person physical or psychological harm;
- (k) For any use intended to or which has the effect of discriminating against individuals or groups based on legally protected characteristics or categories;
- (l) To provide medical advice and medical results interpretation;
- (m) To generate or disseminate information for the purpose to be used for administration of justice, law enforcement, immigration or asylum processes, such as predicting an individual will commit fraud/crime commitment (e.g. by text profiling, drawing causal relationships between assertions made in documents, indiscriminate and arbitrarily-targeted use).

Machine-synthesised voices
The voices in this pack are machine-synthesised, not real people. If you share, publish or broadcast audio made with this voice pack, you must state clearly and intelligibly that it is machine-generated.
Preset voices, no voice cloning
The pack contains only 10 preset voices and no voice-cloning feature. Do not use it to impersonate a real person, or to make it seem that a real person is speaking, without that person's consent.
The audio you generate
Under the licence, the licensor claims no rights in the audio you generate. You are responsible for that audio and how it is used, including respecting the rights of the authors whose text you have read aloud.
Licence
The full BigScience OpenRAIL-M licence (in English) is included in the app under Settings → Licences & credits, readable offline, and on the OpenRead website. Where these terms and the licence differ, the licence prevails.
No affiliation
OpenRead is not affiliated with or endorsed by Supertone Inc. The names Supertone and Supertonic appear here only to identify where the model comes from.
Updates
OpenRead may release updated versions of the voice pack, and the app will offer them to you. The licence lets the licensor restrict use of the model that violates the licence. If these terms change, the app will ask for your consent again before the next download.
No warranty
The voice pack is provided as is, without any warranty from Supertone Inc. or from OpenRead. To the extent permitted by law, neither is liable for damages arising from its use.
If you do not agree
You do not have to agree. If you do not, don't download the voice pack; the app can still read aloud with the system voices. You can delete a downloaded voice pack at any time.
How consent is recorded
Your consent is recorded only on your device (the terms version and the date you agreed). Nothing is sent anywhere.
