Import a book as text, EPUB, PDF or a web page, then let OpenRead read it to you — in one of fourteen Vietnamese voices, or in any of 30 other languages with the multilingual voice pack. Speech is generated on your iPhone: no account, no sign-in, and no internet once a voice pack is installed.

What it does

14 Vietnamese voices

Seven male and seven female, across northern, central and southern accents, in Natural, News and Storytelling styles. Speed 0.5× to 2×, changeable mid-sentence.

30 more languages

The optional multilingual pack adds ten voices for English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Russian and 22 more. OpenRead recognises each book’s language and reads it in that language.

Speech that never leaves the device

The voice engines run on your iPhone — no server, no streaming, no account. Each voice pack is a one-time download you start yourself.

How it works

Pick a voice and press play

Choose a style and speed. Speech is generated ahead of you, so playback stays smooth.

Pocket the phone, lock the screen, set a sleep timer. Your place is remembered.
